It ,started pretty quick. Doctor says it could last 4 to 6 weeks or more. Feels like my arms and legs are jello. Very little energy to do anything. Hair coming out again. My brother John got the hair clippers out yesterday!
We have to wait 3 months to do the next brain scan. This is to let the internal radiation treatment finish doing it's job and to let the swelling inside go down. Not to mention my big head being puffy and swollen. I think I look like shrek!
I also think I'm going through some depression. Looking into some new meds. I still do herceptin every week but stopped chemo during radiation and for the next 4 weeks. My last radiation was Monday. After 15 straight days (not weekends) Mom and I are exhausted. My regular liver and heart scans are being scheduled now.
Mom and I are planning a week in Florida around May 17 to celebrate my 50th birthday with a cousin also turning 50. (Sheri) Mine is at the end of Apr and hers at end of May. We were very close as teens. Look forward to seeing her family.
I will also have a nice visit with another friend whom I worked with in the mid and late 80's in Tampa. We have known each other for many years. (Margie) She emails me some great inspirational things which I love to read. Especially about angels. I just pray that my energy is back by then.
Most of all we are looking forward to spending time with Mom's sweet sisters and brother. Doris 89, Betty 83, Jackie 80, Barbara 76. Buster 66. Lois passed away age 77. Betty, Jackie and Lois all had breast cancer. And my grandma Rosemary -Nana who passed at 81 also cancer.
We are thinking about stopping in Savannah for a few days on the way home. We are hoping to find Paula Deens brothers restaurant.(Bubba)
Once we get home I think I will be starting the new drug TDM1 or now called Kadcyla. Read about it. It is herceptin mixed with chemo and infused every 21 days instead of weekly. Lot's of promising results for metastatic cancer. (Cancer that spreads) I think I will be the first person to receive it at my cancer center!

Well I tried to add some personal stuff so it's not so clinical. I hope this is better. Mom and dad, brothers, nephews, sis n laws all doing good. Mom is still going to all my appointments. She drives. I don't know where she gets energy. She acts like 44 not 74. She is going to work on my room tomorrow. Putting up winter clothes etc. She loves to cook which is great cause I never have. She made overnight french toast for me and my brother the other day that would knock your socks off! What would we do without her? I don't want to find out! She reminds me so much of Paula Deen and the Barefoot Contessa -always looking at her collection of Southern Living recipe books. We love our parents and appreciate all they do for us.

Last but not least, what do I say about these people? My co workers who, I miss so much. The nicest people you will ever know! I think about them more than they know! They did so many things for me during the 8 months I worked in Newland!
| I sure do miss this sight! |
