Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to give you a quick update. For the most part everything is going well other than an issue with my white blood cell count being low.

Apparently it happens after you've had chemo for awile. Mom gives me a shot for three days after chemo and it helps.

Most everything else is the same. Still doing chemo and herceptin weekly. The issue with my joints hurting so bad is much better. It took a while to figure out the right medicine's. The fatigue comes and goes. Some days I sleep a lot. Other days I feel better.

I hope all of you are doing well. And as usual, thanks so much for all the cards, emails, text, calls etc. You keep my spirits high! Peace, love and prayers to all of you!

  1. Good to hear the meds seem to be doing their job. You know you and your mom and dad are constantly in my prayers. Love you all.

  2. Hi Jackie! So glad that you are doing well! Here's something you might want to consider to help your joint pain. Bert and I have gone "wheat-free" and we have both lost weight and an interesting side benefit is that joint pain is relieved. It turns out that wheat causes inflammation and by eliminating it, many things improve. Check out Dr. William Davis, author of "Wheat Belly". Here's a link to a website about him:

I'm amazed at how much better I feel by eliminating wheat. We still eat corn bread, rice, and other bread substitutes. There are many types of flour that you can use instead of wheat flour.

I sound like a commercial but I am sold on getting rid of the wheat! Hope to see you next time we are in Swansboro!

    Love,
    Betty
