Thur March 15

5th Chemo treatment was Wed March 7. I was out of work Mon, Tue and Wed following treatment. Same type of side effects as last time but not near as bad.  The Doctor says this is pretty much how it is going to be.

The side effects don't really change with time. It is amazing how many side effects there are from rashy hands and feet to dry mounth, sore arms and legs, headache, fatigue, runny eyes and of course the usual diarreah and vomiting after treatment.

With missing work after every 3 week treatment it is a challenge to keep things going at work. I spoke to the Doctor about everything and she recommends going out on Social Sec Disability. She says I should not be worrying about work and thinks moving back to the coast with my parents and where my Brothers live would be the best scenario. She reminded me again that my treatment is going to be long term.

I have given my notice at work. My last day is March 30. This is one of the hardest decisions I have ever made. Probably because I work with the nicest most caring people in the world! They continue to think of things to do for me from wearing tee shirts, to donating hours, making and selling necklaces and collecting money for me.

The latest is there is going to be a "Walk" on Sat April 28 at the river.  I was touched when I found out about this. The cost is $10 to walk and you can purchase a balloon for $5 to release in honor/memory of someone you know who has battled cancer. April 29th is my 49th birthday. What a perfect way to celebrate with friends who care so much!

As you all know, I don’t want to leave these beautiful mountains.  I thought I would live and work here until I retired. Even though my last day is March 30, we won't actually be leaving until around June 1. My Doctor here needs to complete all the paper work for Soc Sec before records are switched to Jacksonville.   Everything has a reason and all I know is that by the time we leave God let me experience this beautiful area for almost a year. We have plans to come back to camp when the weather at the coast gets unbearable this summer.

Everyone has been asking for my parents address, so here it is>  863 Sand Ridge Rd, Hubert NC, 28539.  Also my email is  jackie.gainey@yahoo.com and my cell is 910-471-5634.

P>S>  The 'Card Wall' at my office has reached up to the ceiling.  It is awesome how many cards I've received. I am going to scrapbook all of them.

And He said to her, Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction. Mark 5:33
