I moved to Newland NC in July of 2011. I started having some problems with my knee, so I found a new doctor in Newland and made an appointment in Sept 2011.
I also had the doctor check out something I felt in the right breast. I explained that my most recent mamogram was just 7 months ago and came back fine. A mamogram was scheduled for Oct 4 which came back abnormal. An ultra sound was scheduled for the next day which came back abnormal. A biopsy was scheduled a week later on Oct 13. I received the news the following week on Oct 21 that the lump was in fact cancer. I had lumpectomy surgery the following week on Oct 27. During surgery the Nodes are examined which showed positive and therefore a sampling of lymph nodes were removed for further testing. The results came back showing cancer in the lymph nodes. I will have to have chemotherapy because of the cancer being in the lymph nodes.
